Gabby sent me down a copy of the latest bank statement. As at 1 May 2006 we have $6,265.42 in our account. This amount includes all Life member subscriptions and an amount set aside as donations towards the pavers at North Head. RAA History Sub Committee. The RAA Regimental Committee has recently formed a History Sub Committee (HSC) with Major General John Whitelaw AO CBE as its chair. According to John Whitelaw the group has been charged with looking at the broad sweep of the history of the Australian Artillery with a view to ensuring an accurate, comprehensive, permanent and accessible record. The group have identified 26 projects covering all aspects of the RAA. Further information is available at casemate@bigpond.net.au or contact me for further details. T he Journal With No Name John Wells has issued the latest edition of the 108 Bty newsletter and included is an interesting summary of missions conducted in SVN during 67/68. If you are not on the 108 mailing list, John can be contacted on 03 5944 3157 of email jcwells2@ozemail.com.au. The 108 Bty reunion is in the final planning stages. I have heard that quite a few are attending including Warren and Robyn Barnard from nearby Bright. Christmas Cards Received a lovely card from Di Gardner and a card from the Head of Regiment, Brigadier G. P. Fogarty, AM wishing us all the best. Pavers for North Head You may recall we have been asking for donations towards pavers at the memorial walkway at North Head. 107 and 108 Bty are covered but we have a shortfall for pavers for HQ Bty and 106 Bty. George Salmon, John Wells, Don Quinn Terry Waters, Mike Lowry and Lance Grimstone in particular have all made generous contributions to the project. If you can help please send your donation to Gabby Hayes marked pavers. It would be nice to finalise this project and see the Regiment recorded in history at the RAA National Museum at North Head. Other Correspondence  Ken Slow sent his best wishes to one and all.  David Anderson sent us a “potted history” of his time before and after his stint in the army.  Ray White sent in his life membership and is living in Foster Vic.  Mike Lowry sent us a yarn about his “Court Martial”.
