It seems that trips to Vietnam these days are very popular with the veteran community and their wives. Having done the trip with PJ Smith and a few mates a couple of years ago, I would thoroughly recommend it. There are lots of travel agents who organise tours. We did ours with Green Dragon Tours. Eight of us in our own mini bus with guide and driver. Only way to go! Lay down the rules when you first meet your guide as to your preferences for dining etc. Some of the old and bold of 108 (and 4 th Field Regiment) may recall SSGT Ray Cafe. Ray was BQMS of 108 Bty in 1973 – 75 and died on the 18 th of November 2009, coincidently, the same day that Sandy Nall died in 2004. Range Fuel. There has been a fair bit of discussion within Defence regarding the affects of range fuel exposure on individuals. Head of Corps (HOC) RAA have released the following advice and a fact sheet is available on Department of Defence OHS Fact Sheet 18. “ Current and former ADF members: You may lodge a claim with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs if you believe that your health has been adversely affected by exposure to Range Fuel.
