4 Field Regiment (SVN) 'Old Boys' Newsletter - May 2013 Edition

8 Article in the Camden Haven Courier on Wednesday May 8. From Denis Pfundt Hi Peter. Just returned from a week at Renmark with Mark & Inge . The following were also there: Jed & Brenda Taheny, Colin Montford & his partner Anne, Col & Joan Parkin, Al Foley, (and his dog / bitch Taz) Rob & Cheryl Van Wangenin ???Blue & ex wife Fergeson as well as his daughter, & Marks son Matt along with his wife & 4 kids-all angels. Mark & Inga catered for most of us from the time we arrived and put on a great feast on the Wednesday night . There were a few sore heads at the dawn service (approx. 350 ) 106 Bty marched under the banner to the main service( which would have been 600 strong),under the barking orders of WO2 Fergeson, verrrry impressive ,certainly turned some heads in the crowd. The town was blessed with a flypast by a WW2 fighter plane flown by a local. Made the Service. The group had lunch at the Renmark Hotel & rocked back to Marks for another evening meal and more than the odd few. Most of the contingent stayed until Saturday before heading home. All credit to Mark & Inga for a great time. Regards Punta From Tim Makinson Hi Pete, just a short note to thank you for organizing a great couple of days, Sorry I had to leave before the fun, My daughter (who is also PJ) Penelope Jane was driving up to Morpeth to stay with my sister for a couple of days then over to my place for a couple, the car she was in was T boned at an intersection just out of Newcastle her foot was caught in the front pillar, it’s a bit of a mess initially they said she might lose a toe or two “yuk” but after things settled down all seems a lot better now. It was at the dawn service I was with Brian and I said I better put my phone on silent thinking who’s going to ring at 5.30 and it wasn’t till after that I turned it back on there was a message from my sister. Swiftly rang the other day and Scobie rang this
