4 Field Regiment (SVN) 'Old Boys' Newsletter - November 2016 Edition
in Artillery, past and present, installing a sense of anticipation for those recruits who have been allocated to Artillery and possibly a little envy for those not so fortunate. The Officer Commanding will provide us with a schedule of events that we would be invited to attend, most notably the passing out parade of which there is 3 to 4 per year. Whilst we have a number of our members who reside in Wagga Wagga and surrounding locations that can represent us, you and your members would also be invited to attend each of these occasions as VIP’s should you be available and wish to attend. A schedule of events will be provided once available. To enable us to achieve this we ask that you consider assisting us in 2 ways. Firstly, by providing a high resolution photo you believe best represents your field of Artillery, i.e. Field, Locating, Air Defence and secondly by making a donation towards our endeavours to have these photo printed and framed alike. The Australian Artillery Association will also be publicising our sponsorship of the 44th Platoon on our website, Facebook and Twitter seeking donations to assist us in achieving the above goal. Please note that none of the items provided to the 44th Platoon will be photo shopped with the Australian Artillery Association or any other logo thereby ensuring all items presented will be generic in appearance, representing but one thing, the Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery! We anticipate that the cost involved for printing and framing each of the photographs will be approximately $100. 100% of all funds raised for this project will be directed to this project. Full details of the monies raised would be publicised on our website on a dedicated webpage that will also list donors by name and I will correspond with you direct to keep you updated with our progress. It would be appreciated if you would consider the above request and let me know your thoughts. Should you wish to discuss any of the points above please do not hesitate to contact me direct on 0417 422 427 or via return email. Full details of the sponsorship project can be viewed on a dedicated webpage on our website. In closing, the Australian Artillery Association as you would be aware does not charge any fees for membership and all our services are provided voluntary and on this occasion we believe the project to be worthy of the participation of all Artillery Associations which is why we seek your assistance.
