4 Field Regiment (SVN) 'Old Boys' Newsletter - September 2018 Edition
I had a call from Don Love back in early August. I hadn’t heard from Don for years but good to hear from him and I was able to help his out with contacts from the 105 Battery Association. Don served with the Regiment in SVN on the first trip from June ’67 until May ’68 with 108 Battery. Another Gus Weir photo. L to R is Graeme Leonard (we think), Not sure, PJ Smith, Garry Jones, not sure who it is reading the paper and Dave Williams standing. The Australian Artillery Association , under the stewardship of Graham Hampton and Kim McGrath have done amazing things for Gunners everywhere. They have put together two very successful Gunner functions over the last couple of years and the next one is back in Caloundra in August 2019. The event has become a ‘must attend’ for many gunners from all over Australia. I am going to attend the 2019 dinner and am happy to book a table or two if the interest is there. Full details on their web site: www.australianartilleryassociation.com Their web site has a great array of information for all Gunners and is well worth a visit. If you do book your tickets to the 2019 dinner, let them know you would like to be on the 4 th Field Regiment (SVN) Old Boys table. I’ll have more details next newsletter but any questions, drop me an email or give me a call. Well, that’s all folks. Couldn’t get to ten pages this time around and if I wait another week, this may not get sent. Legacy Badge week coming up so wear your Legacy Badge with pride. Don’t forget to forward this on if you know of someone who may not be on our mailing list. Best wishes to one and all.
