4 Field Regiment (SVN) 'Old Boys' Newsletter - April 2019 Edition

Alan Hutcheson advises that he will be at Hellfire Pass for ANZAC Day commemoration. He is staying just outside Nam Tok. Mick Long , Lance Grimstone, Garry Sharp, Ian Schulz, Ray Barber and possibly Geoff Dunkley are getting together in Brisbane . Look for the Artillery Banners usually in George Street. Andrew Murray re Sydney Hi Peter. Trust you are fit and well. Here in Sydney the 4 Field Regt banner is erected at about 1000hrs at the corner of Bent and Elizabeth Streets for people to assemble and march off when instructed. That time varies about is usually about 1100/1130hrs. These days the march is straight along Elizabeth St and no longer goes past the Cenotaph in Martin Place. The march ends and we disband in Liverpool St after which people go their separate ways. Most go back to the Coronation Hotel in Park St (between George and Pitt St) for a quiet ale or 2. A small group (mainly Natios) then go to the Fortune Village Restaurant in Clarence St for lunch. After that some may end up at the Paragon Hotel at Circular Quay before heading home. Feel free to give out my contact details if anyone wants more information etc. Regards. Andrew Murray. (email: am827@hotmail.com or mobile 0438 813 221) From Mike Berryman: Hello Peter. For some years now Fred Kalb and myself have met up for ANZAC day dawn service/march and the get together that follows. We have met in Narrabri, Camden, Seymour and here at home in the RSL on Tilligerry Peninsula (Tanilba Bay). Fred gets heavily involved in the ANZAC two up game and is normally a very entertaining winner. We will be at Tilligerry RSL again this year if anyone is close by. ...........Regards to all. Mike Berriman. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well folks, that’s if for now. I hope you enjoy the read. Many thanks for those who responded re ANZAC Day. Have a great day catching up with old mates and take a moment to remember those no longer with us. I’d really appreciate some stories or photos from ANZAC Day for the next edition. Best wishes Peter Bruce
