Well I toured North and South Island of NZ , March 2018, it was a bloody beauty of a tour. www.grandpacifictours.com - cursor on Ultimate ( small group ) - Click on 19 Day Ultimate, Rail, Cruise, & Coach Experience. That's the tour I went on , it's classified as Business Class, a little bit more expensive but money well spent - so start saving for the NZ tour. Get the Brochure, the photo's of the Coach are, very - very impressive. There are similar tours to choose from. Slivo !! Alex !!!! 106 Battery News From Ben Burrow Thursday May the 7th 2020 at the Green Mount Beach/Surf Club. TIME: 12 Noon for lunch. Some of our chaps had such a good time at the 2019 May Reunion that they booked for next year at the Bella Mare Apartments over the road form the Beach Club before they left this May. Most Veterans will arrive on the weekend of the 2nd and the 3rd of May and take advantage of the reduced rates for booking for more than 5 days Monday the 4th is a Public Holiday in Qld and the roads from Brisbane to the Coast are heavy with traffic. A COMPLICATION HAS ARISEN HOWEVER IN THAT THE 4TH FIELD REGIMENT RAA BASED AT TOWNSVILLE HAS DECIDED TO HOLD A 60TH BIRTHDAY PARTY ON THE FRIDAY THE 1ST AND 2ND OF MAY 2020. The WO2 organizing the event had a copy of GUNNERS VIETNAM 67/68 in his hands as he spoke to me and he was praising it to the heights. The 4th Regiment hopes to have a similar 60th Anniversary Book published. 15 of us attended the 55th Birthday and the 60th Birthday will be a repeat it seems with events at an open day in Friday the 1st and an official monkey suit dinner probably for senior officers only on the Saturday night. The last time we 15 baggy a blokes and wives had dinner at the Townsville RSL. We have all been invited along for the Friday open day as we were last time. I am not considering travelling up to Townsville at this time because I can see that it appears that it will be a similar format and since we had already organized our reunion, I would rather spend time at Coolangatta with you chaps. An update on FIRE MISSION 106 BATTERY, John has been beavering away at getting the final product ship shape to submit it for publication. To those 106 Veterans that have sent me the ideas on how many books they would like "I say thank you". if you have not let me know an approximate figure please give it a rough guess at least. John has spent over $3,000 so far on setting the book up, this time we only print half of what we did last time and John is only interested in recouping his outlay. The cost of the printing of the book is still open to negotiation by John with the printer and so an idea of how many you will need is very important. I would like to repeat what we did last time and that is to have a book launch, probably in Melbourne but understandably John given his health status and that of his Wife Pam he wants to have copies of the book on hand before we can arrange a launch. Regards from Ben Burrow. 108 Battery Update John Wells advises that they are putting together a book titled “Roger…Ready” which is the story of 108 Field Battery in SVN. I understand the book is at the printers but no details of when they will be released. The “Daters” are having a reunion in Mandurah in March 2020 and I believe the book will be released then. Anyone wanting details of the
