4 Fd Regt (SVN) Old Boys Newsletter - March 2020 Edition

Many of you will remember Ken MacKenzie who was BC of HQ Battery in SVN in 1970/71. He replaced BC Major Keith Hall who moved to 107 Bty after George Salmon was WIA. If you haven’t read his obituary, I commend you to have a look at it on the RAAHC web site. Follow the link below. Ken went on to become CO of 8/12 Medium Regiment amongst other things and I for one would have liked to spend more time with him in later years. Alas, like so many others it is now too late. http://www.artilleryhistory.org/gunners_past_and_present/obituaries/obituaries_m/mac kenzie_kenneth_william.html From Alex Pavlovich Gday Peter !! From Kruger National Reserve, South Africa , there are a few Black Fellas that want to get hold of me and put me in a large pot with vegies and have a meal of me - otherwise having a terrific time. When I travel overseas I take with me a 11in computer, just to keep in touch with home sweet home. Regards Alex !!!! I had been in touch with Alex before he left for Africa and was surprised to receive this email from him. I don’t know whether he made it home or is still waiting to be put in a pot somewhere in Africa. Les Winton sent me this cartoon. Anyone who had anything to do with proof firings should appreciate it. Thanks for Garry Sharpe for helping get Wayne (Blue) Cargill back on the email list. Wayne is the Assistant Membership Officer for RSL Tasmania. I would be nice to know of any other Old Boys who are involved with their local RSL or other ESO. I still am involved with Legacy but have reduced my commitment a bit. I have also taken on the role of Welfare/Wellbeing Officer at our local Sub- branch
