Some interesting 2024 statistics from the Australian Army Website. • 81,746 Australian Army soldiers recorded on the Roll of Honour have died in service. • 250,000 Australians living today have served in the Australian Army. • In the Australian Army today: o 6,711 (16%) are female. o 6,908 (16%) were born overseas, and o 1,801 (4%) are indigenous. • Army structure includes two Divisions, 23 Corps, 145 units in 157 bases using 41 training areas. Some interesting facts about our local Lake Cathie (pronounced “Cat eye”). Our little “village” is fast becoming a go to location for cashed up Sydney siders. Our lake is open to the sea at the moment thus allowing a variety of fish into the creek flowing from Lake Cathie and another lake, Lake Innes. The area has proved very popular with tourists over the Christmas break and we locals are looking forward to getting our lake back to ourselves.
