By Peter Cimbaljevic 1st Field Regiment fired its last rounds from the M2A2 Howitzers, on 24 August 1990 at Shoalwater Bay Training Area. The Regiment fired: “At my Command - Regiment Right - One round fire for Effect” The Regiment consisted of 18 Guns: 101 Field Battery |

| The Regiment took delivery of the L118/119 Hamel Light Gun, soon thereafter. Conversion Courses soon followed after Numbers Ones, and key personnel first attended courses at the School Of Artillery North Head Manly. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
